We’ll start slow and build momentum as you start to learn more about your thinking, your limiting beliefs, and your triggers to eating. Along the way, we’ll incorporate more joy into your life and get you back in touch with yourself, your dreams, and your passions.

We’re creating a true connection to your body and the ability to fuel it according to its needs. Diets by nature set us up to ignore our bodies. They tell us to eat certain foods at certain times to achieve results. We become disconnected from the best tool we have; our ability to know when we’re hungry, when we’re full and what will nourish our bodies. I will teach you how to listen to your body, fuel it according to its needs, and exercise to keep it healthy.

My Philosophy
It is not about the food. On some level you may think it is, but deep down in your heart you probably know that it’s more personal than that. I believe that it stems from our beliefs about ourselves, our abilities, and our value in the world. We need to change how we think and feel on the inside for our actions to change, which will then change the results we see on the outside. It’s really hard to lose weight and keep it off without uncovering our beliefs about food, eating, exercise and ourselves. Our minds are powerful, but they only believe what we tell them. So we will spend lots more time talking about what you think and believe, than about what you’re eating.
Deprivation leads to overindulgence. How many times have you started a strict diet only to find yourself knee-deep in Ho-Ho’s after the first day? When we deprive ourselves of food to fuel our body or even food that just tastes great, we set ourselves up to overindulge. The latest brain research tells us that we are biologically wired to store more food when we starve ourselves - when we’re dieting - than when the body is given regular nourishment. News Flash: In reality diets don’t lead to weight loss, they prevent it.
How it works
As we work together, we’ll be examining and challenging your limiting thoughts, your triggers to eating when you’re not hungry, and how your environment impedes your efforts. I will teach you how to determine what you want, techniques to change your negative self talk, and tools to shift your eating habits to ones that truly support your weight loss goals. We will meet weekly either in my office or over the phone. Some clients also like to conduct our sessions outside. These Coaching in Motion sessions can take place in any local park or neighborhood and allow us to get some exercise while continuing our coaching work. For us multi-taskers, this is heaven!
